The Eliane Luella Monthly
July Edition
July brings a shift in pace. Things are moving again, and life starts to fill up. It’s a good moment to stop and take stock of your life and ask a simple question: Is this working for me?
This isn’t about upgrading yourself, self-optimisation, or chasing the next version of you. It’s about checking that the life you’re living still lines up with what you value. That your days reflect what matters. That you’re not running on autopilot or on expectations that never belonged to you.
Purpose is the foundation. It cuts through noise.
It gives you direction, focus, and a sense of forward movement. It’s not about proving anything, not to your family, not to your friends, not to the world. It’s about being able to look yourself in the mirror and know you’re living in a way that is honest.
A clear purpose helps you stay steady. It reminds you why you get up, what you’re building, and where you want to go next.
Simple Productivity Habits
Productivity habits only work when they fit your life. Not someone else’s routine. Not whatever trend is circulating online. If you try to shape your life around a fad, it won’t hold. You burn out and drop it.
If you’re working toward a promotion or building your business, the habits you choose have to match who you are. If you’re not a morning person, getting up at 5 a.m. because a podcast told you to “win the day” won’t make you better. It just drains you.
Some habits work for almost everyone: journalling, getting sunlight, eating a meal without your phone. They ground you. But goal-driven habits need to be specific to your personality, your schedule, and your energy. That’s why the space below is blank. It’s for you to define what actually moves your life forward.
What is your main goal?
Your answer:
What smaller goals support that main goal?
Your answer:
What daily habits (small, doable steps) will help you hit those smaller goals?
Your answer:
Example:
My main goal: Publish Glim Shift, the second book in the Glim System, on 29 September 2026.
My smaller goals: Edit 5 chapters per week.
My daily habits: Edit in a focused daily block.
Research shows that people who know their life has meaning tend to have better mental health and lower rates of depression. The point isn’t the research itself, but the question it raises: does your life feel meaningful to you?
Meaning doesn’t need a philosophical definition. It’s not something you find in a quote or a theory. It’s personal. It’s the work you want to do, the people you want to show up for, and the life you want to build. It’s knowing your days aren’t random; they’re building toward something that matters.
So ask yourself this: What would you regret not doing with your life?
Your answer will point you toward your purpose.
Whatever your reason for being here, you’re not lacking anything you need. You’re capable and enough for the life you want to build.
Glim Plan goes deeper into purpose and how to align your life with your purpose.
Behind the Scenes
Last year I cleared all the grass from the garden so I could walk directly on the soil. As spring approaches, I’ll lay down gravel, and before summer I’ll add a bench and a table. I want to build the whole garden myself. It’s a big project, but I’m excited to see how it all turns out.

Quote: I loved last month’s John Steinbeck quote so much that I rewrote it to match where I am now:
“And now that you don’t have to prove anything to anyone, you can be you.”
